Steven Yang: from Google engineer to Anker founder
The history of the Chinese brand begins with its founding in 2011 by Steven Yang, who, until then, worked as a software engineer at Google’s offices in California.
When he moves to Shenzhen, China, Yang founds Anker, taking that name from the german word “anker” which means anchor.
Initially dedicated to the manufacture of peripherals in general, however, in 2012, it decided to specialize in the mobile charging sector, i.e. chargers, cables, replacement batteries, power banks…
Anker’s growth has been exponential, in fact, in recent years the brand has managed to consolidate a group of sub-brands (under the name of Anker Innovations) that, little by little, seek to expand into other markets: a clear example is the Soundcore sub-brand dedicated to the world of audio.
